Primary Job Responsibilities: The Beverage Manager role is the key supervisor of our bar program and a crucial part of our floor management team at our seasonal Union Square Beer Garden location which opens May 1st. You will work closely with thehospitality management team to learn, shape, grow, and maintain the beverage & bar program. This will include the beverage logistics, service standards, training, financials, staffing, and quality control details outlined below. It will also involve managing the floor and event spaces from day-to-day in coordination with the remaining management team. Responsibilities: (include, but are not limited to) Cultivate a culture of authentic hospitality that supports our business objectives and growth. Work in collaboration with Owners/Directors/GM to spearhead the bar program by developing standards in: service, cleanliness, sidework, storage, cocktails, misc. Perform weekly beverage inventory and maintain extremely tight records. Perform weekly beverage ordering, and mid-week/monthly as needed. Work with COO/GM to reconcile and submit month-end beverage inventory. Identify beverage trends & consumer beer demands. Communicate this data with the production team. Learn the details of our brewing process, brand evolution/identity, retail/wholesale department. Support GM to oversee the COG's for all beverage products. Adjust prices or eliminate products that do not fit our financial/consumer requirements. Participate in pre-shifts and continuing education for all staff. Provide training resources for beverage-specific training. Ensure all invoices are uploaded accurately every week and matched to purchase orders in the inventory management system Ensure accuracy and matching of all beverage-related POS items to inventory software, ensuring accurate pricing and inventory management Keep all beverage storage areas (keg rooms, liquor and wine storage, cans, etc.) clean, organized, and working properly (perhaps this is already covered in the "-Maintain excellence and cleanliness of all restaurant spaces" but I thought worth highlighting the beverage areas specifically) Keep order guides current with items and pricing Work the service floor daily in the restaurant & bar, while leading staff performance and ensuring guest satisfaction. Maintain excellence and cleanliness of all restaurant spaces. Foster positive working relationships with managers and hourly staff throughout service periods, ensuring effective and timely communication.-Remain current and compliant with the correct HR practices and policies. Hold employees accountable to all standards and practices, evaluating and/or following disciplinary procedure when necessary. Ensure Health Department compliance for all restaurant spaces. Provide feedback and guidance with excellence and hospitality in mind, ensuring that all team members have a pathway for growth and development. Work both opening and closing shifts as needed. Consistently look for internal and external candidates to build our growing team.
